About Us

Downtown Johnson City, Tennessee

DowntownJC.org is ran by Friends of Olde Downtowne which is a volunteer based nonprofit organization focusing on First Fridays and the Blue Plum Festival.

Friends of Olde Downtowne formed in 1999 to throw the first downtown block party, Spring Fest, which eventually grew into what is now the Blue Plum Festival.

2015 Blue Plum Festival

The Blue Plum Festival was originally organized by the Friends of Olde Downtowne in 1999. It’s beginnings as a street fair has grown considerably over the years. This year, an estimated 80,000 folks will converge on downtown Johnson City over the course of 3 days to enjoy music, arts, food and so much fun!
